This book starts off with babies being born to now Bernard. I
found it interesting how the author doesn’t go into that much detail about the
things happening. He just explains it. While in the chapter the author brings
up two new characters. I think it is really weird to do that because they pop
from out of nowhere but they play an important role in the book. While reading
this book I saw that the author didn’t go overboard. He had some situations
that were current and the readers could relate to. Some of the situations were
drug abuse. The characters in the book did drugs to calm themselves down. I
think that in that society anything goes. Unlike the societies of Fahrenheit
451 and 1984 the society of this book is really relaxed and not that tight on
security and laws (even though Bernard was given a warning and if he didn’t
perform well he will be transferred to Iceland). It was nice to see how finally
John met his dad and how his dad was the person teaching people not to have
kids and etc. What do you think is going to happen further in the story? I
think that Bernard will be transferred to Iceland and he will experience new
things over there and also I think that towards the end of the book things will
be back to how it is in the real world but right now this book got way better
and I am actually starting to enjoy this book very much.
