Towards the end of the book after the characters get
arrested and during that period the author talks a lot about science which I
really liked. I thought it was nice for the author to write about the science
and explain to the readers what this “new world” is. Also the punishment that
Mond gave to John, Bernard and Helmholtz is pretty nice and it would help them
in the future. In chapter 17 John mostly talks about religion and how he wants religion
to be a big factor in his life. In the end John Is left alone while the other
two people are taken away to an island. Chapter 18 is really weird to me. I
didn’t get it at all. Why was John whipping himself? While reading that chapter
I felt thought that John was a type of attraction like lions in a zoo. Also I
think that the author could have made the ending better and unique. The author
just brought Lenina out of nowhere and then john goes and whips her? What was
all that about? I didn’t even understand that part. Thought the author did make
some of the ending interesting. I liked the part where John was used a freak
and everyone was going at his house to interview him. In the end the author
made John suicide. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. I think that the
author should have gone into more details and explained a bit more about the
reasons of John’s suicide. What do you
think?
